So a new species for me today. I have never been asked to pick up a bat until today where there was the need for a bat to be picked up from a vet’s in winchester.

Again Winchester is some what outside of my normal “patch” but having a specific love of bats and their mis afforded reputation (thanks Dracula!) I couldn’t resist offering to pick it up.

From what I could tell, it was found on the ground having been washed out of its roost by the torrential down pour we had yesterday morning, and other than being very soggy looked in good health.

The collection itself was rather commical and my presence was announced around the veterinary with the statement “The Bat Man has arrived” which being a total nerd, made me feel oddly amazing!

Even A and O at HART exclaimed how soggy it looked in the box, and apparently after a little bit of time in the incubator was looking much happier already.
